Marvel possesses some of the most powerful superheroes in the world. They range in power from those who try to keep the streets safe to those with colossal skills that make them the most formidable people in the universe, if not the multiverse. Over the years, several of them have demonstrated extreme power. Marvel has an enormous collection of individuals in its comic book history — something in the neighborhood of eight thousand core characters with exponentially more if you add auxiliary, one-off, and multiverse variants of those characters.
Only a tiny portion of these came to the small and big screens, thus the general public is unaware of the vastly populated universe that the Marvel brand encompasses. While we have seen several strong heroes and villains in live-action, most of Marvel's most powerful characters have yet to leave the pages of a comic book. As a result, we have compiled a list of the 10 strongest Marvel characters, graded by the utility of their talents.
Keep in mind though, that these characters are more than capable of beating each other, depending on who is having a good day. So, take the order of this list with a grain of salt.
When we talk about strong characters, of course the help would be the first one we mention. Do we need to explain our case? The Hulk derives his strength from his rage, therefore the more enraged he grows, the more powerful he becomes. Potentially extending his power to infinity. If he ever faced a superior opponent, he would become enraged at the fact that he was losing, then summon the strength to overcome them, it is that easy.
Three extremely reputable sources have backed up his claim that his strength is limitless. Beyonder, an almighty cosmic creature that understands exactly what he is talking about, was the first source. Stranger, a creature that formed the living galaxies and backed up Beyonder's claims, was the second source. The Mad Thinker was the third source, and his calculations almost proved that Hulk is the most powerful character in the Marvel world.
The god of thunder, often regarded as the most powerful superhero in the Marvel world. He is not there yet, but he will get there. An incredibly powerful Asgardian and the son of Odin. His might as a god of Asgard is unrivaled by everyone else in the cosmos. Thor falls under the unquantifiable category, but that is only the beginning. Thor has effortlessly done feats of power that would have been unimaginable for any other superhero.
Beating the combined power of all Infinity Stones in the MCU to kill Thanos may just be a tiny part of how powerful Thor can be. There are numerous fan theories out there and references in the Marvel Comics themselves about Thor being the entity that ends the universe.
Sentry is Marvel's darker counterpart of Superman. He is a hero with many abilities, but he is always at odds with "The Void", an evil entity within him. However, we are not interested in his unfortunate situation; rather, we are interested in his maximum strength.
Absorbing powers from the Sun itself, Sentry is immortal, invulnerable, has superhuman strength, speed, and is incredibly intelligent. Sentry is also impervious to all damage unless he wills it upon himself. But when we talk about superhuman speed, we do not just mean he travels extremely fast. Sentry can travel at several times the speed of light!
He is pretty much Marvel's version of Superman.
Did you know that Marvel had a Hercules? As a demigod, this alone should put him just at the top of our list. Hercules, the son of a deity and a mortal, is bestowed with divine power; in fact, he is known as the god of brute power!
Hercules is undoubtedly one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel world, having defeated opponents such as The Abomination with next to no difficulty. As the son of an Olympian god, Hercules has unlimited strength, making him one of the strongest characters in the entire Marvel Universe.
With all the talk about Thor, you might be surprised to discover that Richard Rider, Nova, is also on our list. But bear with us! Richard has access to all the Nova Force, Richard has access to all of the Nova Force, using which he can grant himself Superhuman powers. Whether that be incredible stamina, strength, or speed, Richard has it all. Being able to keep up with the Silver Surfer is quite a feat and we believe that has earned Nova a place in this list.
Nova was once only a trooper of the Nova Corps, but now he is the Nova Corps. He is the heart of it, possessing the power source that once powered the whole force. If you do not remember what the Nova Corps is: They are the police force from Guardians of the Galaxy. The fleet that stops Ronan's ship from reaching the Xandar is a Nova Corps fleet.
Another hero from the Marvel Universe that is not as well-known as the likes of Thor and Hulk. Wonder Man derives his power from “ionic” energy. Considered to be at the same power level as Sentry, we do hope we can someday see Wonder Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But considering how close Wonder Man's name is to DC's Wonder Woman, that might not actually happen.
Captain America has remarked that Wonder Man's strength surpasses that of Thor, although this is an exaggeration because Wonder Man has claimed that Thor is still more powerful than him. He did, however, knock out Thor with a single punch.
The Thing, we all know him from Fantastic Four. As great as comic strength can be, it cannot compete with raw strength, which Ben Grimm possesses in abundance. The Thing's entire thing is raw strength. His strength exceeds that of a substantial portion of the Marvel Universe, not only because of the strength bestowed to him by his rock-like frame but because he has skilled over the years to enhance how much he can lift.
As a result, The Thing demonstrated his ability to power a machine capable of moving a planet. We can rank him higher since he is immortal because he is a rock, like, literally a rock. The Thing has been able to increase his strength with training, so if he keeps up training, who knows how powerful he can become?
Rogue, one of the fan-favorite mutants from X-men, is still a part of our list. Her presence here may surprise readers. Rogue's major ability is to drain the life energy and abilities of anyone she encounters. She can, however, absorb a person's powers permanently if she touches them long enough, as she did with Wonder Man, whose incredible agility and flying are now part of her ability set. Thanks for this. Rogue is now as powerful as Wonder Man if not more.
We honestly believe Rogue should be higher on the list because given how her powers work, she could potentially absorb anyone’s power and become stronger than them as well. No?
An extremely powerful character who has earned the credit and is one of Marvel's most formidable characters. We will discuss his power level for when he is underwater, considering that as his natural habitat.
Namor's full power is worth acknowledging, even if it is only while he is in his environment, and we are going to put this in the top ten because of how rarely he gets to use it. Namor’s strength is "unparalleled" undersea. He also has great strength above the sea, speed, agility, and many other abilities that are still at their peak even when he is not in his natural underwater habitat. While we could have let him off this list, we genuinely believe that his character has a lot of untapped potentials. Wonder if he will ever come to the big screen of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This one should not need any introduction. Carol Danvers is Captain Marvel, and she possesses a variety of amazing powers, including superhuman strength, speed, and the ability to travel through the vacuum of space!
In the comics, Captain Marvel, like Thor, is stronger than on the big screen. Carol Danvers’ power is incomparable to most other heroes, she is capable of interplanetary flight, and can shoot raw photon beams at people. She can also alter and consume radioactivity and magic, as well as control gravitation and lighting. She can connect herself to a white hole to get even more power, something we have not yet seen in the films.
